The small Komodo archipelago is one of the world's greatest
wildlife regions and home to the Komodo dragon, the sole survivor
of carnivorous dinosaurs.
These dry and barren islands attract travelers from around
the world to view the giant monitor lizards in their natural
habitat. There is also plenty of other wildlife; deer,
monkeys, wild water buffaloes, pigs, bush turkeys, eagles
and horses.
We visit Rinca or Komodo island first for an
early morning hike to watch the infamous Komodo dragons in
their natural habitat. The boat then sails to Sabolon
island where you can explore the rich reef.
