Seven day cruise vacation from Bali to KomodoThis sailing cruise will bring you to the waters of the Lesser Sunda Islands or Nusa Tenggara. Nusa Tenggara is part of a huge volcanic belt that stretches from Sumatra to the Moluccas.Along your journey to Komodo you will pass some impressive volcanoes like Gunung Agung on Bali, Rinjani on Lombok, Tambora on Sumbawa, and Sanggean near Komodo National Park. Other highlights on your journey along the northern Sunda islands are the handicrafts sold in Lombok, traditional dances in Sumbawa, an encounter with the fierce dragons at Komodo and Rinca, and the beautiful coral reefs of Satonda and Komodo. Sight-sailing cruises depart from Benoa harbor in southern Bali. The ship leaves harbor in the morning for a visit to the traditional Bali Aga village of Tenganan in East Bali. The next day you can join a land excursion to a traditional village as well as taking in other highlights around West-Lombok. We then sail to the little known island of Satonda with its mysterious crater lake and beautiful coral gardens. From Satonda, the ship sails to the Komodo National park, home of the famous Komodo dragons. Then we head westwards again to Bima for a visit to a Sumbawa hill tribe, before sailing to the east of Lombok to see traditional performances. Before returning to Bali, the Ombak Putih stops for a relaxing morning on a deserted beach at Gili Nanggu, just off the coast of Lombok. |
